SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
UNITED STATES

Frequent Coffee is a San Diego roastery built on one idea: decaf deserves the same care as everything else on the menu. Founded in 2025 by Mark Gano as the city's first decaf focused specialty company, the project set out to correct a long standing blind spot, where decaf has usually been an afterthought rather than a considered offering. Everything Frequent releases is roasted in small batches and sold direct, with freshness treated as part of the quality rather than a detail.

Their sourcing goes straight to the producers driving modern processing. Coffees come from names like Wilton Benítez, Diego Samuel Bermúdez at Finca El Paraíso, and El Vergel Estate, selected as green coffee first and decaffeinated second, using gentle sugarcane EA and Swiss Water methods that leave aromatics and sweetness intact.

The results speak plainly. Their Red Bourbon from Wilton Benítez scored 94 points from Coffee Review, the highest ever awarded to a decaffeinated coffee. Frequent's coffees are floral, fruit driven, and unmistakably specialty, with only the caffeine left out.
